Bio Extracts (Pvt) Ltd was established as a subsidiary of Expolanka Holdings in 1993 and is a manufacturer and exporter of the Baraka range of Black Seed Herbal Products. The Company has brought together the age-old herbal medicine system and state-of-the-art technology to produce a range of herbal products using Black Seed as its main ingredient.

The company expanded in 2002 with the introduction of a Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical segment to include nutraceuticals and herbal food supplements, including herbal teas and aromatherapy oils. After 15 years of commercial operations, we now enjoy being the world's largest manufacturer of Black Seed Oil.

Our production facility is ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, ORGANIC & HALAL approved. The company works closely with medical experts in our Research & Development work, with the expertise and facilities of the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, and Rajagiriya, Sri Lanka. New product development is constantly being carried out by our R & D team, which also periodically reviews existing products. All our products are subject to toxicological & clinical tests before marketing. Our production facility and the product range are approved by the Department of Ayurveda, Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka.
